ENFP (A Glimpse of Innocence)

  • 2025 Won the Silver Key of Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

I grew up with friends that are not so educated in art, and they always said that the world is dull, but I valued life differently. As somebody who spends a lot of time choosing colors to draw, mix, and use, I get into the habit of “over-coloring” random objects in my vision. I was walking with my friends on a cold winter day when we both looked at this tree with no leaves. The ink pen sections of the drawing represent how I believe my friend saw this tree and colored blocks represent how the tree looks to me. Instead of focusing on the negative- dying state of the tree, I tend to focus on imagining what the tree looks like at its finest days. Perhaps this also relates to my imaginative personality -The title refers to my MBTI personality, ENFP. It stands for extraverted, intuitive, feeling and prospecting; A being who is like a social butterfly, finding positivity in the smallest of things.
